The Beginning of a New Day for the Old San Francisco Steakhouse

The Old San Francisco Steakhouse has been a fixture in the San Antonio, Texas restaurant scene since 1968. It was one of San Antonio’s very first Steakhouses, and has provided local residents, visitors, and dignitaries from around the world a dining experience so special it has become legendary.

In 2008, the Old San Francisco Steakhouse was acquired by businesswoman and entrepreneur, Veronica Esparza, President and CEO of Absolutely Delicious Catering, LLC. Her experience in founding and growing this award winning catering company brings a new foundation to The Old San Francisco Steakhouse.

Her vision is to maintain the customary ambience of the Old San Francisco, while at the same time bringing a fresh and exciting new experience ‘to the table,’ literally speaking.

Throughout its forty year history, the Old San Francisco has been a regular recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including “#1 Steakhouse” and “Best Steak” in San Antonio, and “Texas’ Top 10 Steakhouses”. Veronica intends to keep in step with this track record.

Our menu features Prime and Certified Black Angus Beef and the Freshest Seafood. We also offer creative poultry and pasta dishes, as-well-as tasty vegetable selections. All prepared with keen attention to perfect preparation. Our wine list offers 100 different wines, with 25 of them available by the glass.

Whether your evening calls for a sophisticated meal,
a romantic interlude, vegetarian cuisine, or an experience for the entire family, the Old San Francisco Steakhouse is most assuredly your choice. We also have inviting spaces available for private affairs, including our breath-taking Crystal Room, an exact replica of the Tevarn on the Green Crystal Room in New York City..

From the moment you enter the restaurant, your visual senses will be overloaded. When you see our Barbary Coast architecture, the décor, which includes historical pieces, impressive artwork, and items of lore and legend, you'll realize that something special is at hand. In fact, there's a LOT og history at teh Old San Francisco Steakhouse. Many of our showpieces are of museum quality. Be sure to ask to see the western display, which features authentic cowboy and Native American artifacts from that bygone era. The original Western Display is now on permanent display at the Witte Museum of Natural History, here in San Antonio. Also, be sure to ask to see the original photo, taken so long ago, of Gussie Lee.

Once seated, your attention will be drawn overhead to a girl in the red velvet swing as she entertains you while being accompanied by vivacious live piano music. Feel free to request a guided go at the swing for the children (or yourself.)

Then, your much anticipated dining experience takes off with our famous giant block of Swiss cheese and hot, freshly baked loaves of true San Francisco Sourdough Bread. You’ll know that you are in for a one-of-a kind dining encounter that is all at once sophisticated, romantic, fun, and engaging.

But, most of all, you and your companion(s) will depart with delightful sensations of euphoria, nostalgia and gastronomic satisfaction that can only be savored at the Old San Francisco Steakhouse!

Remember to bring you camera.
