Our Parent Company Receives Kudos from a Satsfied Customer

Absolutely Delicious Catering, the Parent company of the Old San Francisco Steakhouse, received the following comment from a recent customer.....

"Our initial impression of caterers was not very promising until I spoke to you over the phone.

Caters were not willing to have tastings until you signed up with them. I thought this was ridiculous "What if I did not like the food or their service, but was already invested". If we were going to spend a good chunk of money I believe that a forty dollar tasting is a good business gesture even if you don't get the business. When we meet you we were impressed. The fact that you spent over two and a half hours with us asking us questions giving suggestions and letting us taste possible food choices impressed us. We had already made our choice that evening to obtain your services even though we said "We would call you with our decision that week."

Through out the process you were so helpful and honest with us. At times I was not able to get a quick response, but this made sense as we spent countless of hours with you and you would not accept interruptions by others. You made us feel that you not only appreciated us as customers, but as people. Your insight to food and service is remarkable. Through out the planning you were available to us and provided feedback something every couple needs. Actually you took away a big chuck of our stress from setting up our rehearsal dinner to wedding. By going to our venue days prior and giving us more suggestions and recommendations this helped make our special day a special day. Many of family members raved about our venue and Food. Many of them had not tasted great food at a wedding. They were impressed by the way the food was presented and most importantly the taste.

We were also treated like a King and Queen by your worker Gabino. This guy was awesome we did not know if we were going to serve ourselves prior to that day. As soon as we made our entrance he presented himself and catered to us from the beginning to the end (he deserves a raise lol).

Veronica, me and my wife want to thank you from our bottom of our heart for the time, service and help you provided us. We know your business will flourish as you have great employees and treat customers like family. Do not change the way you conduct business or treat people as this is your strongest asset. You have our future business and we will send you many referrals.

Thanks Again

Carlos and Veronica N."

Happy New Year!

From all of us here at the Old San Francisco Steak House to all of you, HAPPY NEW YEAR! We had a tremendous turnout for our New Year's Eve gala event. Revellers were treated to an evening of great food, music, dancing, gaming, and more! We are already looking forward to bringing in 2010 with an even bigger celebration.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our dedicated supporters for your patronage in 2008 and we wish for each and every one of you a prosperous and safe 2009.

Special thanks to Jeanne R., who wrote: "My husband & I are native San Antonians & have enjoyed the Old San Francisco Steak House over the years. This past New Years Eve was our best ever. We were at your restaurant w/ our son & his wife & can’t stop talking about it & telling everyone our good it was. The food was delicious (better than before)…the music a blast! & the game room was so much fun. We are not gamblers but the people upstairs manning the tables were so friendly & helped us learn how to play. I’ve said that it felt like a big private party and I appreciated the very clean powder rooms. The new owners are the best thing that has happened to that restaurant. We will be back."

Regarding special occasions, our sights are now on Valentine's Day, and we are planning a magically romantic evening for couples. We will have more details within the week.

We are looking into 2009 as a time of growth, planning ways to make your experiences here more and more memorable, whether it be for dinner, or a social gathering or corporate event in one of our banquet rooms.

As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions, so feel free to email or call us at 210.342.2321 with your ideas.

The Beginning of a New Day for the Old San Francisco Steakhouse

The Old San Francisco Steakhouse has been a fixture in the San Antonio, Texas restaurant scene since 1968. It was one of San Antonio’s very first Steakhouses, and has provided local residents, visitors, and dignitaries from around the world a dining experience so special it has become legendary.

In 2008, the Old San Francisco Steakhouse was acquired by businesswoman and entrepreneur, Veronica Esparza, President and CEO of Absolutely Delicious Catering, LLC. Her experience in founding and growing this award winning catering company brings a new foundation to The Old San Francisco Steakhouse.

Her vision is to maintain the customary ambience of the Old San Francisco, while at the same time bringing a fresh and exciting new experience ‘to the table,’ literally speaking.

Throughout its forty year history, the Old San Francisco has been a regular recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including “#1 Steakhouse” and “Best Steak” in San Antonio, and “Texas’ Top 10 Steakhouses”. Veronica intends to keep in step with this track record.

Our menu features Prime and Certified Black Angus Beef and the Freshest Seafood. We also offer creative poultry and pasta dishes, as-well-as tasty vegetable selections. All prepared with keen attention to perfect preparation. Our wine list offers 100 different wines, with 25 of them available by the glass.

Whether your evening calls for a sophisticated meal,
a romantic interlude, vegetarian cuisine, or an experience for the entire family, the Old San Francisco Steakhouse is most assuredly your choice. We also have inviting spaces available for private affairs, including our breath-taking Crystal Room, an exact replica of the Tevarn on the Green Crystal Room in New York City..

From the moment you enter the restaurant, your visual senses will be overloaded. When you see our Barbary Coast architecture, the décor, which includes historical pieces, impressive artwork, and items of lore and legend, you'll realize that something special is at hand. In fact, there's a LOT og history at teh Old San Francisco Steakhouse. Many of our showpieces are of museum quality. Be sure to ask to see the western display, which features authentic cowboy and Native American artifacts from that bygone era. The original Western Display is now on permanent display at the Witte Museum of Natural History, here in San Antonio. Also, be sure to ask to see the original photo, taken so long ago, of Gussie Lee.

Once seated, your attention will be drawn overhead to a girl in the red velvet swing as she entertains you while being accompanied by vivacious live piano music. Feel free to request a guided go at the swing for the children (or yourself.)

Then, your much anticipated dining experience takes off with our famous giant block of Swiss cheese and hot, freshly baked loaves of true San Francisco Sourdough Bread. You’ll know that you are in for a one-of-a kind dining encounter that is all at once sophisticated, romantic, fun, and engaging.

But, most of all, you and your companion(s) will depart with delightful sensations of euphoria, nostalgia and gastronomic satisfaction that can only be savored at the Old San Francisco Steakhouse!

Remember to bring you camera.
